2.4 Why Don’t We Trust Machines when We Obviously

It is obvious that we are using machines, big data, and that we live in
an automated cyclical process of big data, but this process is going in a vicious circle. Unexpected life experiences have made me reflect again on the exact place of humans in this relationship.

At what stage of the interaction process are humans? Are we still in the control zone. Who should make the subjective decisions in a self-driving car? Do humans have the ability to flip robots? Are big data predictions really as accurate as we think they are? Should we trust the data, or are we becoming more and more like machines? It all keeps haunting the masses like a black box as they become immersed in it and forced to accept all the implications from the data.

The Non-causal Data from a Critical Perspective project is actively exploring the questions raised above, as it seeks to find ways to address the transparency, validity and fairness of big data.
